*Entrance is free for elementary school students and junior high school students who live  in Shizuoka City, or go to school in Shizuoka City, and who can provide their student ID.

By car
●From Tomei Shizuoka interchange
Get off at Tomei Expressway interchange. Turn right at the interchange exit, and right at the next traffic lights. After that, follow the signs to Nihondaira for about five kilometers (takes approximately 20 mins.).

●From Tomei Shimizu interchange
Get off at the Tomei Expressway Shimizu interchange. Get off at the Chiyoda-Agetsuchi interchange on Japan National Route 1 Seishin bypass. Turn left at the traffic lights at the exit. Go straight until you cross the bridge (Naganuma Ohashi), and turn right at the traffic lights (Ikeda). At the next lights (Hijirishiki) take a right (takes approximately 25 mins. in total).

●From Shin-Tomei Shin-Shizuoka interchange
Get off at the Shin-Tomei Expressway Shin-Shizuoka interchange. Go straight along Prefectural Road 74. Cross over the bridge (Naganuma Ohashi), and turn left at the traffic lights (Ikeda). At the next traffic lights (Hijiriisshiki) turn right (takes approximately 20 mins. in total).


By train or bus
10 mins. by Shizutetsu Justline Bus "Shizuoka Nihondaira-sen" from JR Higashi Shizuoka Station.

There is one AED (Automatic Electronic Defibrillator) inside the zoo.

Requests to our customers (zoo etiquette)

●Please refrain from using flash photography as it upsets the animals.
●Dogs, cats and other pets are not permitted in the zoo.
  *Please leave them attended at home.
●Balls, balloons and other play equipment may not be brought in to the zoo.
●Do not feed the animals.
●Preserve the fine appearance of the zoo by dealing with trash, etc.
●When viewing the animals, show consideration for small children and customers in wheelchairs.
●Roller shoes are not permitted in the park as they may disturb other visitors.
●moking is not permitted in the zoo.

●Regarding usage of the Rollerslider

  • Individuals of elementary school age and above may use the Rollerslider unaccompanied.
  • Infants may use the Rollerslider with an accompanying guardian.
  • Objects may not be taken onto the slide.
  • Scarves, mufflers and other headgear that may wind around your neck are not permitted
  • Footwear that may get caught or stuck in the rollers (rubber shoes, sandals, high heels, roller shoes, etc.) is not permitted. Usage of the slide when barefoot or in socks is not permitted.
  • Start when given the signal by a member of staff.
  • Sit on the mat correctly when sliding.
  • Hold onto the slide rail throughout.
      *Gloves are available for rent. Use your hands to control the speed. Do not accelerate.
  • Do not lie face down or stand up when on the slide.
  • Leave a space so as not to hit the person in front of you when sliding.
  • Do not stop, go backwards, cause annoyance to others, or act dangerously when using the slide
  • If you come to a stop during usage, use one of the established escape zones.
  • Pay attention to any signals made by the staff during usage.
  • 14) Please be aware that individuals who do not use the slide in line with these guidelines will be held responsible in case of accident or injury.
    * To guardians riding double on the slide *

【Maintain the double-rider position throughout.】

  • There is a risk of injury, such as broken bones, if a child opens their legs when sliding and comes into contact with the wall. Make sure that children keep their legs straight. Children who cannot maintain the correct position will not be permitted.
  • 17) Sliding at high speeds is dangerous. There is a risk that sudden braking may cause the child to be ejected forwards. Control your speed and slide with sufficient caution.
    *Young children may get their legs caught up in the rollers or under the mat if they do not maintain the correct position. If that happens, there is the risk of injury, such as broken bones. Refrain from using the slide with children younger than three years of age
